healthy gums

To maintain healthy gums it’s very important to take regular visits to a dentist. At Kincorth Dental Practice we can identify any problems early before they become serious, which enables you to carry on regardless. We recommend all our patients follow a regular oral care routine of brushing their teeth at least twice a day, as well as flossing once a day to keep their gums as healthy as possible. If you have been treated for gum disease it is also advisable that you use a mouth wash rinse as part of your oral hygiene routine. For those patients with sensitive gums, it is important to choose a soft-bristle toothbrush to reduce the levels of irritation.

How Do I Know If I Have Gum Disease?

If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms we would recommend seeing a dentist for a check-up as soon as possible;
  • Bleeding gums when you brush and floss
  • Swollen gums that hurt to touch
  • Loose teeth
  • A noticeable receding gum line
  • Persistent bad breath
